In the coming decades, its application in the medical field was increasing by the day. Now in the 21 st century, its use of medical oxygen has become so wide-spread that even small hospital use oxygen cylinders for providing relief to patients suffering from low oxygen level. In the 1930s, Linde & Claude developed cryogenic distillation process for generating oxygen with high purity. Use of cryogenic air separation has now become universal.
